Peeplio is a free real time People Search engine. It can help you to find publicly available information, on the Internet, about friends, relatives and everyone else via a name search. Peeplio aggregates and organises people-related information from a large variety of public sources which in turn is presented in a structured way for optimal usability.

An individual could, on their own for example, locate a person’s phone number or address by searching phone books, then redirect their search  to online social networks, or video sites, to discover that instead, all of the information is available through one single search on Peeplio. The search results include residential addresses, phone numbers, social network profiles, pictures, videos, blog entries and web link results.

It is important to note that in certain instances, you may not find the ‘personal’ information (i.e. residential address and phone numbers) of the person that you are looking for mostly because not all people in South Africa list their contact details in the telephone directories. However, you may still find information about them within the social networks, pictures, videos etc. tabs

Q: How to find people using Peeplio?

A:   Enter the name of a person you are searching for and/or their location, if you know it. We return the address, phone number and other information (such as pictures, videos etc.) for that person, if available. All available results will be displayed once the search is complete.
If no results display, try the following:

• Enter an initial or partial first name and a surname, if you are not sure of the initials or first name, leave it out and only enter the surname to expand your search.
• If the surname is common, include the full first name and/or middle initial.
• If the last name is hyphenated (e.g. Stacey-James), try using one of the names, without the hyphen.

The ‘location’ field will automatically search within South Africa if you do not enter a province, city, town, suburb or street name in this field. The ‘location’ field is designed to assist you with valid locations by displaying locations (Province, City, Town, Suburb, or Street) that match what you type as you type. Any location not recognised by this facility will not return any results. 

Once you have entered the person you want to search for and/or the location, results will be returned for all four tabs: Personal, Social Networks, Personal & Video, Web Links & Blogs. Select a tab to see the results.

If there are too many results within the ‘Personal’ tab, modify your search by using the Drill Down function on the left hand side of the results page. The left hand side will show you how many results were found, for the person you searched for, in each Province, City, Zone and Suburb (if any).

Q: Why does the search for a person not present any results?

A:  Most likely the person is either:

• not listed in the South African telephone directories,
• not present in a social network, or
• not on the Internet.

Q: Can Peeplio find information that I have never made public?

A:  In order for Peeplio to find any information, it must be publicly available. Peeplio makes it easy for the user to find out from which original source the search results come from by clicking on the logo next to the result.

Q: Why is the information about my name not accurate?

A:  A name search is related to a name pair (i.e. ‘John Smith’) and not to a specific person, thus, in some cases a search term leads to results to more than one person with the same name or similar name.

Q: Can I search for a business listing directly from the site?

A: No, but simply go to the http://www.yellowpages.co.za.
